The Medical Aladdin’s lamp: A solution for instant diagnosis
PROJECT:
The problem of health in isolated areas of developing countries is currently quite huge.
Most of doctors are concentrated in urban centers, leaving rural areas without any way to have access to medical care.
Our team wants to try and develop a device able to propose a distant diagnosis to people living in isolated areas, using a simple questions/answers algorithm transmitted by cell phones.
For this purpose, we propose to design a system inspired from the principle of the “20 questions” game, where an algorithm based on neural networks is able to figure out a character, asking only 20 questions.
Once the diagnosis established, the system could provide simple advices to the patient, for example types of food that should not be eaten.
TEAM:
A bi-national team composed by researchers, students from France and Bengladesh
